Owners Jeff Wideman, Shirley Knox, and Mariana Marques de Almeida have a created a scaleable and sustainable sheep farm that focuses on providing milk for the cheese and yogurt industries. They have created a flock of sheep that is almost 100% ASSAF genetics, a Spanish breed known for high milk output.
They “hope to influence and foster the creation of additional small ruminant dairy farms, by providing professional support and comprehensive training for new small ruminant dairy farmers who want to adventure in this new and exciting business, which is the sheep and goat dairy industry.”
Quite impressive.
